Brian Clark is the CEO of Ascent Technologies, a RegTech company that uses AI and natural language processing to automate regulatory compliance. Brian’s commitment to well-functioning and properly regulated markets, combined with his belief in the transformative power of technology, led to the founding of Ascent Technologies.
Prior to founding Ascent, Brian served as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of an international brokerage firm, and worked in market regulation for CME Group, Inc. where he was a lead market investigator in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis. Brian also served on the Board of the CME PAC from 2012-2013.
Brian has a wide breadth of regulatory compliance experience spanning derivatives exchanges, market investigations, clearinghouse compliance, and registered brokerage businesses. He brings this wealth of direct regulatory knowledge to Ascent, which helps customers simplify and automate their regulatory compliance programs. Ascent’s IntaaS (Intelligence-as-a-Service) platform uses a proprietary vertical AI and automation processes to help customers to identify, monitor, and manage their regulatory obligations. Brian and the Ascent team are committed to helping customers save time and money and reduce regulatory risks.
Brian is a Chicago native, an Eagle Scout, and a licensed attorney who has a Juris Doctorate from DePaul University. He continues to practice law on a pro bono basis. He earned an MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business, where he focused on entrepreneurship, statistics, and strategy and wrote a thesis on the Economics of Artificial Intelligence. He completed his undergraduate degree in Economics at the University of Illinois.
